Yesterday, Kathie emailed me with information on a statute which allows a prisoner temporary escorted release to visit an immediate family member who is dying or attend the funeral of a relative, which the inmate carrying the cost. This must be approved by the unit staff and warden. However, this is the weekend, and my case manager does not return until Tuesday.

After chapel service today, “D” encouraged me to come with him to speak to the chaplain about my situation, and the new chaplain was very open to the idea and gave me the impression he could recommend the escorted temporary release to the warden, who would make the decision. He said, go back and email me immediately with all the pertinent information. This I did. I also plan on sending something to Judge Arcara.
