It is so awesome to see how the Lord is taking a hold of and changing “W’s” life so dramatically. He has been spending a lot of time talking to me and waits for me to go to every meal, walks the track with me, etc. About three days ago he came and asked me about one habit that he has that he believes is not honorable to the Lord, wanting to know what he should do when he has those thoughts.
I told him to pray and confess to God his helplessness, and to tell Him that God is going to have to deal with that situation for him because he is powerless in and of himself. This is a great way to deal with any temptation. Last night he told me how that worked for him, and we rejoiced in the Lord together. It is amazing how he is absorbing everything that is Christian – sermons on the radio, the Scriptures, Bible study, Christian music, and even sharing how God has totally changed him with other inmates and even guards. He told me that at first many said, “Sure, we’ll see how long that lasts!” But now they are noticing the amazing changes. He even has a remarkably changed countenance! It is amazing to watch! I just praise the Lord.
