Day 483

Tuesday, March 31, 2020 -

Today, God finally answered prayer for both “E” and “R.” “E’s” home confinement has finally been approved, and he’ll spend two weeks in quarantine in the SHU, and has to have someone pick him up. He’s been waiting and praying for this day to come for a long time, and I’ve been praying with him. I praise the Lord for this and pray his parents, girlfriend, daughters, and siblings will all see how God has transformed his life, and that God will continue to sanctify and protect him from the snares of the devil.

“R’s” prayer was answered in the negative and he will have to spend the last thirteen years of his sixty-year sentence in captivity. He will be 78 when he is released. I can’t imagine! Discouragement and depression are trying to set in.

I spent time today with “W” studying Romans 5, 6, 7, and 8. These chapters are amazing as they explain the freedom from sin’s influence over our lives which can only come from Christ! We recognize our helplessness in regard to sin. But we have been freed from sin, to which we have once been enslaved, not by anything we have done, but only through the blood of Jesus (Romans 6:15-22) and have become slaves to righteousness, joined with him that we might bear fruit (Romans 7:4-5). Only through His Holy Spirit do we have victory over the flesh (Romans 8:11-14)! Our victory is in Christ, and it’s the Spirit that helps us in our weakness, interceding for us (Romans 8:26-27). What amazing truths these are!
