Day 479

Saturday, March 28, 2020 -

I experienced a very neat thing yesterday evening. “W” was speaking to me about a man in our unit who has some very weird beliefs. Specifically, that Jesus is not God. I told “W” absolutely that is not true, for the Bible is very clear, and there is a verse that says we are not to add to God’s Word and take nothing away. I couldn’t remember exactly where it was found but had an idea. However, after hours of searching, I could not find it as we have no luxuries in prison such as a good concordance or the internet. I told him later in the evening I just could not find it, and that I was very sorry. He said, “That’s okay, I’m sure we’ll come across it soon.”

It wasn’t but perhaps two hours later, at the most when “W” came back to my cell, and the subject came up about what heaven will be like. I said, “Oh, you have never read the last two chapters of Revelation, they’re awesome!”

He picked up my Bible and began to read it aloud, and there, lo and behold, the last four verses of the Scriptures, he reads, “I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God shall add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Tree of Life and from the holy city, which are written in this book” (Revelation 22:18-19).

We both said at the same time – “That’s it’ – being covered with goosebumps! What an amazing God we serve!
