Day 82

Sunday, February 24, 2019 -

This afternoon, I went to the chapel service, and was very blessed with some encouraging words it seemed were just for me. Chaplain Highley was preaching on the first chapter of Joshua when the people of Israel were about to enter the Promised Land.

God reminds Joshua that He has already given them the land. Yet, we know they were going to have to fight for it! God, too, may have spoken to us certain promise, which we must believe He will do even though we are in prison. Yet for us, like Joshua and the Israelites, we may have to fight for it!

And so, we may have to fight a great spiritual battle to obtain the thing we believe God has given to us as a promise, and so we are to put on the whole armor of God. God repeatedly tells Joshua to be strong and courageous! He is to meditate and obey God’s word, and not deviate from what it says. They are to pray and speak God’s word, and not be fearful or dismayed. Simply, nothing should deter us from what God has for us. God promises, “I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.”

Praise God, I needed this encouragement today.

Kathie is only doing slightly better, but I must give her health over to God as well. God has performed great miracles of healing before, and God can quickly restore her lungs, taking away the pneumonia infection completely. I know not what I would do without the comfort and assurance of the Holy Spirit!
